jaux.net had a happy moving! This site is now powered by WordPress 2.7 and is hosted on Slicehost!

As predicted in the previous post, moving and upgrading WordPress was easy, fast and pleasant.

However, one thing hit me during the process was the memory consumption of Apache. Currently, my 256MB slice has only the OS, Apache and sshd running, but there is almost no free memory left. It will probably be a serious problem later on, so I’m going to take a look at some lightweight web servers. The candidates so far are: lighttpd, Cherokee and Nginx.

I updated this blog to WordPress 2.5-RC1 two or three days ago, but I found RC3 is already released …

Last weekend was the Easter weekend which was a normal long weekend for me. What I did was the LFS (Linux From Scratch) project. I’d compiled most of the software, but not the kernel …

All this whole week I did at work is figuring out how to call functions in .lib from C#. I already know how to do it manually, but we have a project that is made for this purpose, but I can’t make it work …

Thanks god, today is Friday!

When the new version 2.3.1 had been released yesterday, I upgraded WordPress and K2 at the same time.

K2 is a good theme, but I always have more or less problems with it; and I don’t like to hack deeply into its code, so whenever I encounter a problem with K2, I’ll give up so easily.

At this time, I gave up again. The reason is I can’t make K2′s sidebar display tags properly. :(

Anyway, I picked up the default theme, Kubrick, and did some modification, and I designed a logo for jaux.net The logo is named Metal-J.

I’m so happy about this work because this is my first time to do a design all by myself — no tutorials, no helps and I believe it is a fantastic job. I love it so much!

However, I am not very satisfied with the header image. I’m going to massage it harder later on.
