<p><img src="http://jaux.net/uploads/2008/11/chyrp.png" alt="chyrp" title="chyrp" width="202" height="78" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-262" />In short, <em>Chyrp is a lightweight blogging engine.</em> You may say we already have WordPress, why another one? Even though they both can be used to build your own blog, they are quite different technically. WordPress is so called publishing platform, but Chyrp is just an <strong>engine</strong>! If something were a platform, (to me) it should have battery included and there should be tons of features built-in to meet my basic or advanced needs. However, if it were an engine, I have to get all the parts I need and put them together before I could drive it onto the road. Therefore, you can see the two software are built by different purposes.</p>
<p>(If you are a Linux user and you know how the Archlinux/Gentoo is different from Ubuntu/OpenSuse, then you get the whole point.)</p>
