To you and every other reader, I'd like to remind you that all this marvel of magically free software is not the product of a single monolithic monopolistic company, but a joint effort by developers and users, and that the only way that you get that "still a long way to go" off of your heart is to report bugs.

Finding bugs happens all the time on all software, betcha that you've been caught up with a blu screen of death in Windows right? That specific bug that bugged you happens in Windows, and does not happen to happen in Gnome/Linux.

Just like any other bugs happening in Windows and not in Gnome/KDE/etc+Linux, this bug you found happens in Gnome and not in Explorer/Windows, that's life.

I invite you to report Bugs ('cuz hell yeah, it's a bug, don't be affraid of words) where they belong, and although blogs give visibility and drag attention to correct bugs when they bug users, it is not a place to report a bug, or worse, to feel you've done the right thing.

The right thing is (read along with me) TO REPORT A BUG THE DEVELOPER, which, in this case is Gnome Bugzilla. I leave you the link, hopefully it won't be eaten by another bug.

Report the bugs you find.
The software might be free as in beer, but it's not free in the spirit, and reporting bugs and contributing in other ways to the community is the price.

Peace.
