Zooomr’s uploading issue solved, sort of.
Zooomr, like my favorite Flickr, is a photo sharing service. It’s provides unlimited storage for free; this is the point makes me give Zooomr a try.
Unfortunately, the first impression Zooomr gave me was terrible: I couldn’t upload any photos from my Ubuntu box. When I was trying to upload A SMALL (in file size) picture, Zooomr quickly told me uploading was completed and everything was looking good but the picture did NOT show up. I also tried some big pictures, but Firefox crashed every time when the uploading was finished.
I then tried to ask for some help in the help group. In this group, I saw a lot of people were very friendly and trying their best to help others to solve problems, and my problem was responded very quickly. The problem hadn’t been solved at that time, but the community made me wanted to stay.
Well, the answer to my problem was: it might be caused by the Flash plug-in. But after this point, I forgot Zooomr for a while.
Today I picked Zooomr up again and tried to solve the problem. If it is caused by the Flash plug-in, then let’s disable the plug-in and see what would happen. By following the suggestion from Mozilla, I first installed the Flashblock. Magically, the uploader was working! No bulk uploading, though. Quickly, I found Flashblock was too simple to be useful, so I decided to give NoScript a shout. It turned out that NoScript was definitely a better choice for me. but it’s another story. In this case, either add-ons works quite well.
So, what next? Go wild!
